Phases of Waterfall Model:
1. User Requirements Or Requirement Analysis
2. Global Or High Level Design
3. Detailed or Low level design
4. Coding
5. Testing
6. Deployment
7. Maintenance

Cons of this approach:
1. Testing in later stages of SDLC
2. Defect fixes cause more delay in deployment
3. Any change in design due to bug fixes or etc. can further delay the deployment and increase the cost to deployment.

Does anyone still do waterfall in software development? The top names in the industry have weighed in to say that no plan survives contact with code, and for the reason Agile is far and away the preferred method

so another advantage of using the waterfall model would be the reduced workload put on the testing team? are there any other advantages?
