Humanity has destroyed Earth and made their way to the stars. Mars is full of blonde Americans, but the protagonists of Alistair McDowall's "X" haven't even made it to a real planet and instead are stuck on Pluto. In eternal night, they're waiting for the next shift, but nobody shows up and nobody answers their communications - things are looking grim.
