Thank you for sharing this video and great job on the videos content and production value. I'm a native Floridian and its been years since visiting those areas. So It was great seeing your family enjoying that once popular attraction . As a kid my father in the 30's was in one of Famed Naturalist and Herpetologists Ross Allen's youth groups that toured central Florida in like a youth crash course for survival. That included living and hunting and fishing off the land for two weeks around Silver Springs. Later, They were based out of Ross Allen's Reptile Institute @ Silver Springs and part of the original Attraction. That's before it was sold and became a state Park.
RE: Ross Allen, Think of the Original Crocodile Hunter before there was a Steve Irwin. Ross literally collected 23 species of Crocodilians from around the World along with exotic snakes and animals. He used to have them on display at his Reptile Institute at Silver Springs and it was considered a World Class Attraction and Reptile Education facility! All in the pre Disney era. Ross was also responsible for a lot of the coordination and stunts for the film industry and Productions that were shot in the Spring that were mentioned in your video. An episode of What's My Line, I seem to remember it was Arlene Francis's birthday and they had named a glass bottom boat after her and had the captain of the boat as a contestant. 😊

I lived in Ocala, FL for nearly 3 years fairly recently but only got to the springs there a couple of times. Wonderful spot but the hey-day of the amusement type things there is way over. Still have the boats and an annual festival with pioneer crafts and such. Still also have a lot of wild monkeys running loose in spots. I also lived in The Villages for about five years recently just having moved back to the West Coast.
