When most people think of a Tesla coil, they imagine a large, imposing object with sparks flying everywhere. However, it is possible to make a tiny Tesla coil that is just a few inches tall. This coil can be powered by a small battery and can produce millions of volts.

The key to making a tiny Tesla coil is to use a high-voltage capacitor. This capacitor will store the energy that is produced by the battery and release it in short bursts. The secondary coil of the Tesla coil should have a very large number of turns, as this will increase the voltage output.

The final step is to create an ignition system. This system will create an arc between the two coils and will generate the sparks that everyone loves to see. By following these simple steps, you can create your own tiny Tesla coil that packs a powerful punch.

Theoretically yes!

Work better with IRF540 MOSFET because it has a higher switching frequency

I have also tried to make one but I would suggest that to use IRFP260N mosfet with 24v power supply

POV: you thought this was a small easy diy project

Except 47ohm resistor which resistor we have to use to get spark

what is the thickness of the copper wire you used in coil

I have B100K potentiometer can I use that instead of the 1k ohm?

What did you wind the top copper wire around? A nail?

That is a high current draw even at 9v. Is it the current or voltage that controls the output? I was always wondering how to properly bias a mosfet in a slayer circuit so thanks for that one.

Help, my tesla coil is not working again. I got the same transistor the resistors and even the same capacitor, but every time I fire up the circuit I get no output from the tesla coil, and If I turn the potentiometer, I start smelling a burring smell, no smoke but not good for my components. why is it doing this? and how to fix it? Please comment below. 😃👇👇

Great I have a few IRF540 and I was thinking if I could make a slayer with those since 2n2222 are too weak, thanks for this tutorial

Does anyone think that a electrolytic capacitor might blow up easily? I do not feel confident buying a $10 capacitor and it blows up. So should I get a film capacitor instead?

How much voltage current should we pass

What about using 5 or 6 turns of 1.5 or 2mm wire for the primary coil. Also, maybe using a larger capacitor, or 2 or 3 in series.

In the circuit diagram there is a diaod across the drain and source of the mosfet .why?
