Sublime interprétation. Lara Fabian n'a pas en France la gloire qu'elle mérite.

Lara's mother is Italian so she speaks perfect Italian. And 6 more languages. She sings in 15 languages, including Russian. I found that on YouTube.

Caruso, is an italian song, written, composed and performed in 1986 by Lucio Dalla as a tribute to Enrico Caruso, the most famous tenor of his time (late 19th / early 20th century). He was the first global singing superstar.
The story is about the last days of Enrico Caruso, he knows he is dying, and he is remembering all his career on stage and telling his much younger wife how much he loves her.

It has very quickly become a classic of italia music and the biggest names have covered it (Julio Iglesias, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, …. and of course Luciano Pavarotti).

But for many, Lara's version is the best ever, as she was able, with her unique ability to convey the emotions of a song, to reveal the real sad story written by Lucio Dalla.

I was told that Lucio Dalla himself, after hearing this performance, said that she made it her song and this is the best version he has heard from it.

For Lara, this song is really important as this is a kind of anthem for Italy, and she is so much connected to this country. She spent the first few years of her life there with her sicilian mother and grandma. Her husband is also sicilian.

The writer of this song, Lucio Dalla (from Bologna, northern Italy), wrote this while staying in one of the rooms where Enrico Caruso, former famous tenor (From Neaples, southern Italy), spent the final days of his life. Caruso was 48-years-old when he died, and a few years before Caruso died, he married Dorothy Park Benjamin who was 20 years younger. They had a baby girl they named Gloria. Lucio Dalla wrote this song while imagining how Caruso, who knew he was dying, would have said goodbye to his young wife - the love of his life.
curiosity: in sicilian dialect the word caruso means (ragazzo) boy.

My great grandfather (a music teacher who spoke seven languages from Verona Italy) toured America as his (Caruso) accompianist (piano). We have letters he wrote home where talks about the performances and how amazed he was. I have pictures of him (Caruso) at our family farm, everyone eating and drinking out doors. So cool.

Her mother was Italien and her father Belgien she speaks 5 languages with ease and she has sung in many more, one of the most under rated Singers in the World, through bad Management and record firms wanting to change her why to dress and sing she never made it like Celine who came out at the same time, give me Lara then Celine.

That was absolutely incredible. Wow! What a performer; I'd heard her name for years, but it wasn't until recently that I actually listened to her and watched her and she's absolutely mesmerizing.

LARA FABIAN ❤ Her voice is hypnotic, the most pleasant voice to my ears, no matter what language she is singing or speaking. I just can't stop listening it.

Here way of breathing is a new art form. She breaths as if it is written down as a part of the lyricks. One can only do this by living the song. Greetings from Antwerp, Belgium.

Unbelievable to consider that so many outstanding performances were actually from a single concert performance- no outtakes, no massive breaks. How spectacular it must have been for the audience that night. Would have been stunning, and mind-blowing.
