I adore these designs; there's so much personality just in their walk cycle. Were there a tv show about these fellas, it'd be a hit. In my head, the guy in the front is a rookie, eager to prove himself. The big man is their ever optimistic leader, and the dude at the back, my favorite one, is a clever trickster of the group.

Even knowing these are traceovers from that Treasure Island movie, these are great character designs. You feel like you can draw solid assumptions about what their personalities would be like.

Since Ukrainian warriors use codenames, I hereby decree the following

Lead soldier's codename is Wasp. He is from small farming town near Melitopol. Best shot in the squad with a rifle. He was in school when the war forced him to evacuate to Lviv but he couldn't leave the country because he was nearly of military age. His mother, who stayed behind to care for relatives who couldn't flee, was killed by the Russians not long afterward and he wants nothing more than revenge, but has been taken under the wings of the other 2 to stop him from getting himself killed in the process. He's getting better at waiting for the right moment to do things. Originally took point mostly because "that's where the Russians are" but has become a skilled recon man.

Livsey clone is codenamed Cedar. He is from Odesa, and sends a lot of video messages to his girlfriend who evacuated to Prague and sends him steamy videos to keep his morale up. Is from an oligarchic family that is very well politically connected. A bit of a "head in the clouds" idealist, sometimes he doesn't take things seriously enough. Being from the upper middle class unlike the other two, Cedar is the most tech savvy of the 3 and tends to be given whatever heavy equipment the squad needs. Sometimes he jokes that he's "too smart to be the heavy and too heavy to be the smart guy." He's here to defend his people but is also keen to make a name for himself and if he survives he plans to pursue a career in politics. Sometimes lets Wasp talk him into taking stupid risks in the name of glory.

The backman's codename is Egret. The oldest of the 3. A former thief and gangster from Kyiv. Street tough and street smart, has a knack for anticipating Russian ambushes and is a wizard with a knife. Also the least likely of the 3 to be fooled by Russian booby traps. Also lets his paranoia get the best of him at times and his "**** the rules" attitude gets him in trouble with command from time to time and has had his ass saved from court martial at least once by Cedar pulling some strings.
