The reason why thor saud "This feels familiar" is bc the fight with Faye caused a frozen lighting strike

Faye is one hell of a woman. She fought Thor the same exact way just like his husband does in the future (which is a very brutal fight), she tamed the God of War himself and she rebelled against her people to help her husband and son so that they can get bonded and create their own path

So from the story told by the victims of that fight, it seems like it's the one where Thor was challenged to drink. He was confident in it but he was not able to finish it. In case anyone who doesn't know and wonder why, the mug he drank from was connected to the sea. He drank so much that it became a noticeable amount the water dropped.

Atreus being the son of a Jotun who went toe to toe with Thor and gave him the "fight of his life", could see the future and craft spells so powerful that she could hide her nature from not only kratos but hide herself from all of the Aesir in Asgard means he's got some very potent genes and standards to live upto. The frozen lightning reminds me of the first Thor movie where Loki froze the lightning emitting from the Bifrost Bridge with Casket of Ancient Winters.

I thought the frozen lightning bolt was the world tree splintering at first. Mimir said Jormungandr and Thor fought at Ragnarok and splintered the world tree. When the frozen lightning bolt was created, Thor said "This seems familiar" so I thought he and Kratos splintered it. Now I know they didn't (probably)

So that's what Thor meant whenever he said "this feels Familiar'' while he fighting Kratos! Because he remembered fighting Faye in vanaheim

I legit thought when I first played that the frozen lightning bolt that Kratos and Thor created was actually the world tree and part of it splintered from the force, now looking back the frozen lightning sounds and looks much cooler-

remember Thor fought the Axe before, he says "this feels familiar ....nvm" when it happens
and from a side mission you learn that Faye did fight Thor and before that you learn that she was part of a coup against asgard .

Thor even said "This feels familiar." Meaning he was so drunk he didn't remember his fight with Faye despite his desire to want to fight her, and he did lol.

That fight with Thor are both cool and electrifying.

I love the Crater for the fact that is a completely optional section of the game but if you clear the area out, you find out what faye was doing prior to the games

When I first entered the crater I thought the lightning bolt splintered through the nine realms and each realm had a similar lightning bolt in it, but after finishing the area I was disappointed my theory was wrong but not disappointed in the truth.

I mean it explains why Faye chose and even stayed with Kratos despite fighting each other when they first met, it's because they both had similar rage Faye just learned how to control it a lot better than Kratos which is why she was able to temper him.
