Honestly, it’s always weird to me how Pikachu’s have a gender difference in the form of heart-shaped tails, and Pichu’s…Don’t. For some reason. Are they like boobs

Idk of this is true as I cannot remember everything but isnt this the only anime reference in smash as a whole. Spikey ear pichu appeared in the movie first involving arceus, pokemon is an anime, then later was given out to players in heart gold and soul silver. So it is the first ever appearance was in an anime thus making it the only anime costume in smash, from what I can think from the top of my head.

Pikachu has alts of each gender, so i hope you're not trying to use this to say _all_ Pichu alts are automatically female.

I find it interesting that some Smash fans only point out Pichus female spiky eared alt as the "only source" of Pichus gender even though the Pichu Bros were the very first incarnation of Pichu introduced in the anime literally 2 years after the original Gold and Silver came out, they came before Spiky eared Pichu which is why I mainly see Pichu as male in Ultimate and especially in Melee and I'm pretty sure the Main Pichu is based on Pichu Little just like Pikachu is based on Ash's Pikachu, and Lucario is based on the one from the movie which was his very first appearance.

I feel as though goggles pichu is male because most sports are male dominated, and the goggles are blue as opposed to a more feminine colour such as pink or purple.
