Even though Mitsu made so many variations of the Evo 9 throughout the world, I think it makes it fun. Like you said, us USDM bois want that JDM stuff and makes it fun (and stressful) looking for the parts you want. Being an MR owner I do think the SE is the cream of the crop. That or swapping a 5 speed into an MR or MR SE.

I have an 06 Evo MR SE 👑 🔥
Red stitching, 5 speed swapped, BB turbo- shit is a black.
I lucked out big on this car, I don’t think I’ll ever sell it tbh

Have always been pleased with evos here in the UK for getting the best and fastest versions made

I know how you feel pare. I made the same mistake when I sold my AE86. Now that I have an Evo, i’m not making the same mistake.

I'd buy the RS, better diff set up mechanical lsd.. shorter ratios makes for faster car... Lighter kerb weight, makes for a faster car.
RS came with steel wheels. In general the RS was a track car waiting to be modified. Also it never came with Recaros. The idea was for it to be modded by the customer.
Incidentally, my Evo 7 has aluminium fenders and hood from factory....
Love your car man, good comparisons, great content like your other videos

Awesome video kuya! Another difference between the JDMs and USDMs front and rear lights is that JDMs are not DOT approved, USDMs are.

Glad I choose the GSR model, even though I wanted the SE at first.

We Bullitt so many evos in the UK we get the fq models all the way up fq440. Stock out the factory these cars are savages especially when you just do little things like stage 2 remap better exhaust flow these cars are amazing.

That's kinda weird that the MR didn't get red stitching, because the JDM MRs have the red stitching. I don't think Japan had the SEs, which may be why, but comparing the JDM MR and USDM SE I honestly couldn't tell you a single difference from what I've seen.

He was incorrect about the RS not having the aluminum, it has aluminum front and roof, like no sound deadening, roll up windows, less carpet, and more welds/ and seam sealer for chassis rigidity, no wing for weight... etc definitely wouldn't call the rs a basic car, definitely the most hard-core variant

I’ve had 2 IXs. I had a 9 MR that made 768 awhp. Sold it and got another. This time a MR SE and recently sold it over a year ago. I miss that car so much.

I could be wrong, but from what I understand...ONLY THE MR models have Bilstein shocks from the factor.

Would an Evo be reliable enough for a daily?

All models had aluminum fenders and hood. Only MR, SE, and RS had the aluminum roof as well.

Dude, here in Gulf, I've seen RS with everything what you find in GSR, except for the arm rest and differential, and 5 speed transmission, moreover GSR even came with six speed, similar to the MR edition, dude i am telling you how Mitsubishi have tagged these models was bullshit, nothing much was standardized in models, except for the roofs and hell here again i am confused with the options, so when i get crazy when people ask me, what edition i owns, it just doesn't matter, as long as it's an Evo 9,

And by the way I've come across some Evo's 9 with two years models

Guess what they were produced in 2006 and 2007, so here we can conclude that they were manufactured for two years, not for one year, check those Evo 9's VIN, you will get surprised that there Evo's 9 2006 and 2007 year models, the evo 10 got released in 2008 and was there upto 2015, end of Evo's production sadly
