John Explains Why He NEVER MENTIONS ARTHUR IN RDR1 | Red Dead Redemption 2

I know it’s been kinda obvious but maybe for someone who hasn’t seen this post game scene explaining why John never talks about Arthur. (Also, because Arthur was never even created or thought of prior to rdr2) but it’s nice that rockstar has actually explained why. Also, it’s weird but I think I hear a hint of jealousy in John’s tone when he approaches Jack during this cutscene #rdr2 #reddeadredemption #arthurmorgan

"The past is gone, we left that behind"

He says immediately after getting revenge on Micah

"Listen, Jack, Arthur may have saved us but he wasn't introduced until this game. So sadly we can never mention him again. Understand?"
"I understand, pa."

When you meet Mary Beth at the Valentine Train station John also says that he doesn’t talk about Arthur much but thinks of him often.

Not to mention, Arthur asked John to leave the past behind and move on. And I guess John is trying, but it is difficult when you know that everything you have is because of Arthur's sacrifice.

"The past is gone. We left that behind" John said, almost immediately following it up with Arthur's classic line "Alright, I'll leave you to it then"

Love how John tries to take credit for it 😂😂😂

John is trying to move on, but the principles that he had about the criminal lifestyle, the principles Arthur also held, knowing that Arthur didn’t want Micah to get away with his betrayal, it was all too much for John to bear.

That’s what I thought in rdr1, the obvious explanation is he only talks about Bill, Javier, and Dutch because they’re still alive and relevant to his mission to get his family back, that’s all. If they weren’t alive their wouldn’t be mention of them either.. the past is the past.

John had to throw in the lil “I saved us a little too you know.”😂

John was already thinking about leaving before because Hosea told him to

Arthur said revenge was a fools game, he told John not to look back .. but we all know that Arthur would do the exact same as John if Micah had killed John & he knew where Micah was

"Dammit woman, button yer lip! We're gettin' close to the start of the first game, and Arthur ain't been invented yet."

Arthur was a good man and he everything he can do for John and the rest of his family but John definitely has thought about him even the moment when he pulled the same thing that Arthur did with not looking back, deep down Arthur has always been with John right from the start even though death he what made John be the man and Arthur would be proud of John for what he did for his family. both John and Arthur are good people that neither of them deserve to die they definitely deserve to be blessed by peacekeepers the true people who redeem themselves from outlaws to be a better person.

"we cant change the past, we can only move on" -Arthur

Arthur would be happy seeing John, Abigail and Jack trying to not remember the days of the gang and live a normal life, even if that means them trying to forget Arthur to

During the RDR1 mission The Mexican Wagon Train When John is talking to Ricketts about his past that's the only time I can see him mentioning Arthur If Rockstar already planned RDR2 In advance
