Tbf, the previous iterations of the Club WC only felt like the Confederations Cup. So the expansion does make it feel more inclusive for other clubs.

Most teams will prioritize horizontal progression (more players) than vertical progression (better players)

If it’s just planned in the off-season like Euro’s, Copa’s and normal World Cups, then I honestly don’t see a problem. I mean a Club World Cup in this format would definitely be cool to see if it gets the hype of the international tournaments
