As Operations Manager for NASA Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) Program, Philip Baldwin strives to ensure that NASA’s science and exploration goals are met through its three communications networks: the Deep Space Network (DSN), which enables communication and data sharing with distant spacecraft like Mars Curiosity and Voyager 2; the Space Network (SN), which shares voice and video with crews aboard the International Space Station (ISS); and, the Near Earth Network (NEN), for the downloading and worldwide distribution of scientific data from Earth-observing satellites.

“My dad worked at NASA for 39 years, so I grew up with NASA and was inspired by the technology, the space exploration, and the science.”
