Good morning everyone and welcome to todays UK weather forecast on Tuesday 13th August 2024.
Current Situation: Low pressure is edging in from the Atlantic bringing showery rain and cooler temperatures but the far east remains hot...
Today:
Tuesday begins with showery rain in the west while central and eastern regions are dry. Most places have turned cooler and fresher overnight but the far southeastern corner remains very warm and humid.
Through the rest of the day outbreaks of rain in western regions will gradually push eastwards with a band of rain through northern England, Wales and south west England by the end of the afternoon. Scotland and Northern Ireland will turn brighter with a few showers while much of the Midlands, southern and southeastern England will stay dry with hazy sunshine.
A cooler and fresher day for most of us with temperatures of 15C to 25C but still very warm or locally hot in the south east corner with temperatures of 29C.
Tonight:
Wet weather pushes further southeastward through the Midlands and southern England, arriving through East Anglia and south east England by morning. Most central, northern and western regions will have a dry night with clear spells.
It will be a cool night in the northern half of the country with temperatures of 7C to 10C but still very warm and humid in the south with temperatures nearer 15C to 19C.
Tomorrow:
Light rain and drizzle in the south east will gradually fizzle out but we'll keep quite a lot of cloud all day. Most places will have a dry day with sunny spells and variable cloud. Temperatures close to average at 15C to 23C.
Outlook:
Thursday: Outbreaks of rain in the north and west but mostly dry in the south. Cool in the north, warm in the south.
Friday: Rain clearing from southern counties overnight then mainly dry with sunny spells. Cooler.
Saturday: Scattered showers in the north but most places dry. Near normal temperatures.
