Easier said than done in the US. I own the ix50 and BMW offer 2 years free charging at any Electrify America charging stations. Prob is, there is almost always 1 or2 out of 5 stations that are out of service, then there usually a few ppl waiting to charge, then there’s always one dope that has his car sitting there for hours even though he was fully charged within 30-40 mins, then every so often the MyBMW app is not working and while I live in a very populated city, there are actually very few EA charging stations near me.

It’s definitely not like pulling up to the corner gas station and driving away 5 mins later. Ppl keep talking about it will get better, but doesn’t seem like anytime soon.

Also got a big kick out of my local BMW dealer telling me I can always charge at the dealership only to find they have one of these stations that takes almost a full day to charge. Cmon guys!!😮

How nice it looks in the ad, now let's see in real life,
modern electric car = look for a place to charge it almost always you will have to take a detour to do it because in real life there are not so many charging points and even less when you go out 50km from a big city, now you need to have a free position for you and if not to wait, you need card, phone with applications and all this is supposed to work fine until it stops working, you need to monitor the charge and wait looking at the screen, a once loaded and waited for an average of two hours, continue for another... 300km to repeat the operation, if you can.

Classic internal combustion car = stop at any gas station along the way, without deviating from your route, they put gasoline in the car, you pay with cash or card, nothing else, continue your journey for 800/1000 kilometers no need to refuel.

EA is a disaster and a joke. It’s an embarrassment to BMW that they offer such a useless program. They could offer you free charges for life and it would be just as useless. Charging an iX is proving to be nightmarish coming from a Tesla.
