Recipe:
- in a bowl add 1-1.5 cup yoghurt & whisk until smooth. Then add 1/2 tsp red chilli powder & 1 tsp salt & mix it in
- then add, 2 medium boiled potato chopped in cube, along with 2 green chillies finely chopped, 1 medium size onion, handful of coriander & mix this well
- now for the tadka heat 1 tosp Mustard oil, 1 tsp methi seeds & red chilli powder & add this tadka on the salad
- mix well & then enjoy as is or with some rice!

From Nepal! Never knew that.
My mother was born in Marastra and brought up in UP has always made potato rayta like this since childhood. Which she has learnt from her mother and mausis.
It is so common in my family.

Chukauni is a very famous dish in palpa(Nepal) 😍
I think we also add sesame powder in chukauni❤

It's a traditional recipe in marwadi quisine during some specific Puja and it tastes amazing amazing with poori and Paratha!
Do try it that way too!

Being a Nepali I would say your methi Dana is still uncooked, it’s fried until it becomes black and crunchy.❤ anyway looks yum❤

Mam, I tried ur recipe, it was awesome and delicious. Mera ek doubt hai jaise maine kal raat 8 baje chukauni bnaayi phir 4-5 ghante baahar rakhne ke baad raat ke 12-1 baje ke aas paas fridge mein daal diya, to kya agle din ki dopahar 2 baje fridge se nikaalne ke baad, kya mai ise khaa sakti hu?? Kya ye safe hai?? Kyuki dahi vaali koi bhi sabzi, pak jaane ke kaaran to phir bhi chal jaati hai par ismein kacha pyaaz aur hari mirchi dali hai, namak, dhaniya patti, ubla aloo aur jeera- methi vaala tadka bhi dalaa hua hai. Aisa kehte hai ki zyada derr ka kacha pyaaz aur hari mirch namak vaali dahi mein, nahi khaana chaahiye, kyuki kacha pyaaz khud bhi khraab ho jaata hai, aur dahi ko bhi khraab kar deta hai. Plzz give honest reply as soon as possible otherwise mujhe leftover chukauni phekni padhegi.

Well, it originated in palpa of nepal, and sesame seed powder is a must. I was taught by a Aunty from palpa.
And yes, it's super delicious

Super yumm it was… as I dun use red chilly powder, I replaced it with a bit of turmeric during tadka 🤤
