Sorry to be a nerd here…

It is correct atoms don’t touch but they don’t mean you can just go through things. You see…

These quark small little things like protons and neutrons, (electrons don’t have it because it’s small and has an other reason), these things can repel atoms away from each other. Because… protons are positive energy and electrons are negative energy, a proton + proton can’t be touched because it is repelling from each other, same with electrons, they can repel with other electrons also. (I think the orbits of electrons don’t really get near each other and stay in its orbit).

A human has senses… 1. Sight 2. Touch 3. Smell 4. Hear and 5. Taste

What’s more important is “Touch”, this sensation can make u feel something like comfort, rough, sticky, soft, furry, and lots of lots of sensations you can feel with touch. If you bump into something very hard you know what will happen… it’s just gonna hurt u a lot and it’s painful.

Here’s this one that I haven’t researched yet but still will take a guess. If protons and protons and electrons and electrons repel each other and u have sense which is touch, you will have painful status + a repel with the wall making u bounce back, (if there’s a chance you can have ur head against it instead of bouncing, depending on how u hit something).
