Jordan is a really good writer. In particular he’s a great storyteller. But there’s a part in I think his second book where he’s in jail and Tommy Chong (?) — you know the second half of Cheech and Chong — is his 12 x 10 “roomie.” Chong encourages Jordan to write his story after hearing part of it so Jordan writes a chapter or two. Chong reads it and really critiques it, giving back great feedback to Jordan, saying stuff like, “You need to find your voice.” So Jordan starts from scratch. I think then that Chong reads the new version and laughs. Hard. So in reality Jordan — he even admits it I think in the second book — owes a debt of gratitude to Chong for helping Jordan find his “voice.” But the payoff is terrific because the Wolf books are absolutely off-the-chain hilarious. (I also recommend “Son of a Grifter” written by the son of Sante Kimes, a comfort-killing serial killer along with her younger son. The tone is similar to the “Wolf of Wall Street” in some ways and in a review for that book I think I recommend all three books.)
