@professor444 It really doesn't matter what the ESPN clock OR the Stadium clock says. After the 2001 Michigan/Michigan State clock debacle, the Big Ten adopted a rule that clarifies the Line Judge on the field is the Official Clock. Not ESPN, and not some guy working the scoreboard controls. The line judge doesn't start his clock until he completes his signal. Stadium clock may have been started upon initiation of the signal, as much as 3 seconds early as line judge went thru the motions.

@IMSA28 The holder (Aaron Bates) is also the punter, and he was a quarterback in high school.

For those doubting the clock, the Big East crew that called the game said that there was no delay of game since there was a half second difference between the stadium clock and the TV clock. The back judge was adamant about this.

Beyond amazing!!! Wish I was in Lansing for this one!

Actually, when you look at the statium clock (top right ot left), there is still one tick left when the time reads zero on the ABC time clock. Looked like the snapper let the ball go just as the game clock was reaching zero, barely letting it go in time....very close though but looked to be a good no call.

What blown coverage!! That's gotta hurt. Nice job Michigan State. I love it when Notre Dame gets beat. I love the ND QBs look on his face. Big Ten, get ready for Nebraska next year.

Classic, I was there. People (Irish fans) are looking at the ESPN clock. Look at the stadium clock closely... as Hondo said there was indeed a half second differential. If you stop the vid at about :26... the ESPN clock says "3" while the stadium clock says "4." So for the actual play, it was really close to a delay of game, but they were able to get rid of the football just as the shot clock expires. Tripping? Yeah, your guy tripped Bell and that caused the collision (see the hand).

Just pointing it out, the official keeps his eye on on the playclock, THEN as soon as it hits 00, he looks down at the ball. There is intentionally a "lag" between the time the clock hits 00 and the time the delay of penalty called. I believe it was the NCAA that put out a statement that the play was correctly officiated.

@kparks3030 Look at the stadium play clock top right and left. Hard to see but perfectly synced with ABC's clock. Missed call

ESPN announced an official ruling that the play clock from the stadium was off and they had 2-3 seconds. no delay of game. just pure fucking win

@RMosack Yesterday State made a 50 yard field goal.... I'm assuming they could add 1 more yard and still make it.

@IMSA28 apparently he was a qb in high school, hence that pass being a thing of beauty

@eggo001 Thank you. I'm a Michigan fan, but at the :29 mark of the video, both play clocks on either side of the scoreboard are :00, as well as the ESPN play clock. The ESPN clock is unofficial, but that's irrelevant when you look closely at the scoreboard play clocks. Blown call, non-reviewable, Spartans win.
