I broke up with my boyfriend after health crisis diagnosis too. He said “fine! We’ll be “just friends or whatever but I’m not leaving”. We’ve been married over 21 years now.

Didn’t leave him, stayed with him all the way through his chemo. He’ll be done with treatment in 5 weeks, I’m excited to continue our life together, with him, cancer free.

I did this with my fiance, I've been chronically ill since I was 12 but when I turned 18 my health started to tank and I cut myself off from the outside world. He found out after what had happened and we reconnected after being apart. We are now engaged, he has held my hand through every surgery and in 2018 when I got my new lungs 🫁 he rarely left my side. He helped me wash my hair and get clean because of the amount of muscle mass I lost during my post surgery recovery. We are still together and going strong. 💕

I’m glad he was able to have a family. Cancer can come at anytime. Just don’t panic if you suspect it’s cancer and hopefully you will be around good people if it is.

My mom has a similar story but when she found out he broke up with her because his cancer came back and went to see him at the hospital he died a few moments after she arrived, at least they were able to say goodbye 😢

My mom telling me in 2018 that she wasn’t my “real mom” and that she had died when I was only 8 months old. I don’t have memories of my biological mom at all, and my brothers/sisters are hers/my father’s, but nothing really changed, she’s been with me since I wasn’t even a year old and to me she’s mom, she’ll always be mom.

Flashbacks, nightmares, keeping weird stuff from them like hair and deodorant. I dont look at the stuff, I just dont want that time to be erased. I dont want to be the only one left.
