This new generation of O'Pen from Olight has made some major improvements. What a times, I have never been in the States and never had a multitool and a flashlight.

I watch your channel here in Moscow and bought my first multitool Leatherman Charge G10 Orange and Olight flashlight after your videos.

I just received my Blue OPen Pro a few days ago, and I am super impressed with it! It is my first OPen, and, like you Dan, it was finally the clip-mounted LED *PLUS* the Green Laser Pointer feature which reeled me in.
Although I'm retired now and only occasionally use a laser pointer, I've been using laser pointers since whenever they first came out (and were expensive and red) in my presentations, lectures, and to point out things in the equipment -- and this OPen Pro's Green Laser does NOT disappoint - it is as good as any green laser pointer that I have ever owned. And, it writes well on paper, too!

Fun fact: you can press the small blue button, or probably turn it on/off. Just nice that you can use them both separately, say you need a light and use your pen to write in the dark.

Question: if you put the pen in a pen pocket on cargo trousers will it not actuate the bolt upwards and turn the light on? I carry my open2 every day and sometimes hear the bolt clicking as I place or remove the pen from the pocket. Does it have a lockout mode?

Tell Olight to make a light that is directed into the writing surface. Not saying the laser isn’t cool or useful but I’ve never needed one in 48 years . On the other hand I work night shift and use a pen daily in the dark.

I ordered mine today before I saw this. My reasoning comports with yours. You didn't mention the little button inside the cap portion that allows you to use the light and pen functions independently at the same time.

I like Olight ( I have several) but I don't care for the O-pen becouse It's too much of a compromise.Great Idea, but it's not great as a pen or as a light.
