I think the Droideka actually works best in multiplayer as a "tank." Like, an MMO tank. It's loud. It's flashy. It has an enormous hitbox. It's scary (all of us have seen at least one squad wipe from a unexpected Droideka at close range). It looks like a high priority target and attracts and soaks a lot of fire that would have normally been aimed at your allies, giving them time to win the firefight. I like sticking near Droideka because I rarely get shot first when they're nearby.

Droidekas feel best used as suppressive fire for your allies. The shield lets you stick out in the open for a little longer than a standard trooper, and it feels like it's primary weapon can shoot longer before cooldown than the b2. Sure, you'll be tickling the enemy, but that's the point: you're distracting them whilst your teammates do the dirty work of actually killing people. And, if someone foolishly rushes you, you can *annihilate* them, especially with overload.

Personally because of their nature and short ability recharge time I use them as a type of hit and run ambushed. Step 1 role behind and enemy push, Step 2 now them down, step 3 retreat and repeat.

If I had the game I'd use the Droideka mostly because is was my favorite class in the classic battlefront games and seeing the changes to it they may have looked to the bast for once and seen just how strong the droideka was when you could do things like roll into the jedi to knock it down transform then gun them down before they could do anything.

The drop-off needs to be reduced significantly and raise their battle point cost to compensate. They should be rare and powerful and not just a cheap way to drive quickly from one command post to another in Supremacy.

If you thought the damage range sucked, now with the nerf of all special droid units, this thing does even less damage than before, now it feels like its shooting pellets at mid to long range, it's a shame how nerfed the Droideka is.

Droideka just needs some getting used to, you can easily run around the map and pick off lone troopers by entering destroyer form in their melee range, they cant do 1k damage in 1.5 seconds.
Also when you learn the maps it becomes so much easier to flank enemies, ive had 10-man kill feeds by coming from behind a chokepoint on supremacy cruiser segments, its a great unit, just needs some getting used to

Sneak up on heroes and you can take off half of their health pool before they even know what's going on

The positioning is key in this video, technical skill is far surpassed by map knowledge with this thing, I main this thing 100% of the time and it's totally, totally busted, it's a surprisingly powerful assassin pick. Knowing the maps, being able to flank and gank is insane, picking targets to 1v1 and having the damage resist to yeet your Sussy Droideka bee-hind out when 3 people come to counter gank you makes it way strong, absolutely could have used a nerf, but I guess we're past that, aren't we?
