"Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple recounts an actual fire that broke out during a Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention concert at the Montreux Casino in Switzerland on December 4, 1971. Deep Purple was planning to record their Machine Head album at the casino's theater, but the fire disrupted their plans. Sadly it is not about Pot.
