I see a problem with using plexiglass, it has a LOT of flex. This will mean that when you push down the edges will stay up, so you can’t see the ridge collapse as if it were a real tile. It will also collapse pockets that would otherwise be left open for the same reason. I like these kind of tests, but the results of this one are compromised.
