God's love is absolutely unconditional. Just because He loves someone doesn't mean he loves what that person is doing nor does it mean He will not punish the wicked.

Loving unconditionally is not loving your bad behavior. It means giving chances to repent and change the wicked behavior. If human parents can love their children even when their behavior is not good, how much more God loves us, even if we reject Him and go to hell, God still loves us because God is LOVE

God's love IS unconditional. However, God says, "If you love me, you'll obey my commandments." The problem is, a lot of people don't truly love God back like they claim to.

There's a massive misunderstanding here, let's clarify it, God's love is indeed unconditional in the sense that God loves human beings regardless of thier race, ethnicity, skin color, appearance and social status (things that humans typically look for) but that is not an excuse for sin, the statement "God loves the sinner but hates the sin" is Biblically accurate, God says He loves the Isrealites with an "everlasting love" (Jeremiah 31:3) knowing that they had sinned in the past, were sinning, and will sin in the future, but at the same time He would also judge them whenever they went astray, turned to idols and violated thier covenant with Him.

I would say yes God does love us unconditionally. That's the message of John 3:16 and Romans 5 as well as other scripture. However unconditional love does not mean unconditional affirmation.
