I took AP Computer Science A and it was actual Java. They taught 0 indexing and inheritance so this may just be the Principals class which is a much more basic class for people who just want to dabble I guess

That bad? 😆I heard recently from a guy who went to lower school in the 70's/80's that they had to program Pacman in BASIC. The guy from the school was connected to a guy at Philips and that way they got the best PC's and modems of back then. Funny. I myself only knew about BASIC, without internet and the right connections it was hard to find out about C and assembly.

Just wait till bro hears about IB computer science curriculum hasn't changed since 2006, they don't even test kids on the stuff in the curriculum, last year I got a question on the test which we had never studied because my Compsci teacher was told that it wouldn't be tested on.

They never modified java. I agree that they did dumb shit, but its only 1 in their pseudocode. And it gets taught as 0 as soon as you get past computer science principles. The advanced class is using actual java. You are correct and they should teach composition vs inheritance. I agree the collegeboard is a horrible company, however its currently great for increasing your GPA on a weighted scale. I am saying this because I get nearly 100 percent on all of these classes because I already know the content.

1:13 I go to an "established" uni and they still tout inheritance and design assignments to specifically be hard for the sake of it being hard (no function should be more than 15 loc type of shit). My cousin goes to a new college and she is starting with go and the material is definitely better than my uni. So the tides are changing but it is slow

had that stuff two years ago, got 3 on the exam and quit. Stuff was terrible

I took the test in 2022 and it was all basic java, all indexed from 0 aswell
