Hosting a regional is the expectation at FSU so I'm going with that. Get back to reaching the expectation in the first year and then the definition of success will become hosting super regionals and making the CWS in the following years.

Fundamentals are the key. If you have solid fundamentals and play clean you can get hot and make a run. If you’re are not fundamentally sound it’s very, very hard to get on a hot streak because errors and base running issues will kill your momentum. If this team does all the small things well then there’s a chance to make a decent run for sure.

There are a number of former FSU scholarship athletes (baseball and a few other sports) who now have kids playing at very high levels in Florida, California and Arizona. These are obvious talent pools the new staff should be going after - given the build in connection to the school and the athletic department.

I have seen some twitter videos of pitchers and hitters, they will have a better year than most think. Top 10 to 15 and will host a regional

FSU fans - what would be a good first season for you under Jarrett?

Forty games regular season. It seemed like when FSU won 40 games in the regular season back in the day the post season was a given.

I don't know that just making the tournament would make it a successful season. They just made the tournament last year and they were pretty bad, across the board.
Even if the pitching takes a little bit of a step back, if the fielding and baserunning are improved (I mean really improved with numerical proof), and they stop a) taking 30 first-pitch strikes per game and b) striking out 15x a game (exaggeration) then the wins will come. Can they get to 40? Perhaps. If they do, you can thank the addition-by-subtraction of firing Meat.
