For some reason, this reminded me of a safety video that would be seen in an indie horror game where you have to operate or travel through a tunnel without dying to the cosmic terrors inside.

One thing to keep in mind: if the tunnel is long and up a slope, DO NOT go uphill, even if the flames are downhill or the exit uphill is closer. Going through the flame will be more likely to survive than attempting to walk minutes up a tunnel of smoke. An uphill tunnel will act like a chemney.

For reference, see the 'Balvano train tunnel disaster', one of the deadliest railroad and tunnel disasters in history:
-In summary, train got stuck in a tunnel and a wagon near the end caugh fire in an uphill tunnel. The exit was much closer uphill, and the flames were downhill.
Of the 600 people onboard, over 500 died. The majority of the survivors were not in the tunnel in the first place, but further downhill, in wagons that had not enterer the tunnel yet, or were downhill of the fire when it begun.
Of the over 500 people who were, almost all of them fled uphill because the fire was downhill and they wanted to get away from it to the nearest exist.

The 500+ people who went uphill all died of asphyxiation before reaching the exit.
The only survivors who were uphill of the fire, understood that they had a better chance going down, and went through the fire.

But why would you have to evacuate by foot? Wouldnt making a u turn be quicker and safer?

If you see a fire in a tunnel drive really really fast so when you fly past the fire the air will put it out and save everyone

In the UAE where I live and is from, we don’t have SOS phone booths or PA speakers.

I'm going to make a u turn instead of leaving my car and maybe I'd signal others their is a fire or id go straight ahead if the fire does not block the whole of the tunnel or drive through it if my car is fire proof and their are no leakages

What about emergency shelter's that are found in most tunnels by law after the mont blanc tunnel fire before you start running down a probably smoke filled tunnel in zero visibility shouldn't you look for a clearly marked & most times closer emergency shelter then the tunnel entrance or exit stay in the shelter until fire crews can safely evaluate or some tunnels have an exit door in the shelter that will lead you to a separate safe evaluation tunnel that takes you away from the fire smoke & in some cases if the air to fire & fuel mix is just right a massive flash over that will engulf the tunnel & anyone running in it cooking there lungs like rice paper
