Google colab is insane. I rendered my punisher animation which was 150 frames in about 3 hours. This scene was massive

One thing that helped me a lot is turning 3d objects in the background into Planes, convert the object on it's own into a PNG with a transparent background, so i have a bunch of planes, works well for some scenes and reduces the polygon count soo much, really depends though on what you want to do and what you need to be 3d and what can be made 2d.

I was 42 frames of shy of completing my render for the alternate realities challenge before the deadline. So close...and yet so far. I really
appreciate your videos! You do great work. I liked your alternate realities submission as well.

This is exactly what I needed! I'm working on a character that is in the 30m+ range of polys and has over 60 8k textures and hundreds of thousands of hairs. Now I'll actually be able to render it without it straight up crashing.

You also forgot static-light to texture baking. The reduction in render time is huge with this feature in blender.

1:50 is exactly what i've been looking for! You've earned a sub and a like :) Great video!

If that helps, bump up the tile size for faster renders. You can find the best tile size for your pc trough a blender add-on
(Something like auto tile size).

But my single layer takes way long :(..
Anyways that is a good idea

This annoyingly fast description actually told me more about rendering layers than most of the previous tutorials combined. Thanks!
