They gave up the #4 overall pick, Ingram, Ball, Hart, and like 2/3 future first round picks. I still believe they gave up too much for AD. They could’ve kept all that and just signed AD in free agency. That team would’ve been good enough to win 2/3 championships.

Lets face it, Lakers had a championship squad last year but panicked because injuries and trade valuable roleplayers for Westbrook, decided to be cheap and not match the deal Caruso got. Because if they run back the same squad from last year and still add some pieces like Monk and Anthony on vet minimum deals like they did this year they'd be a top3 team in the West.

It takes guts to make controversial trades. Shaq to miami was one of them. Yeah the lakers took an L but it eventually lead to 09-10 championship with the players from that trade. Lamar Odom, Caron butler, and the pick that became Jordan farmar. It just depends on what’s available. Lakers future is looking bleak without a young star in the ranks.

Not keeping Caldwell-Pope, Caruso and Harrell were big mistakes. They miss the D, effort, and athleticism.
