2) book above pieces
3) build at the same time (after I see it`s in multiples, lol)
4) right because that`s my dominant, unless there's something different about it (Echo from Bad Batch has a gray hand where the droid arm would be for example)
5) step by step
6) flatten boxes, bags in trash. extra parts go in container with the trillions from over the years.

My lego building routine:

Open box

Open bags (1 at a time, whenever the instructions say to open it. And I rip them off the top)

Place bricks on top and next to the instructions

Put every plastic bag inside the box

Take all extra peices and pour them into my lego drawer

Take box full of trash and put it in trash can

I definitely build all at once when they show me multiple steps and I find all the pieces ahead of time as well. I remember discovering that as a kid and literally feeling like I became a master builder😂 everything is so much more efficient that way

For me it varies from time to time, and considering I build on the floor most the time, the instructions end up wherever, the minifigs get accesories in their right hands, and depends on the day for building multiples
