I'm British.
It was quite clear growing up and watching media of other English speaking countries that the definitions of race within other English speaking countries differed markedly.
Then I studied science and it was even more clear that "race" didn't match biology.

Both in the US and Germany, where I lived, I’m considered white until they hear I’m Brazilian. In Brazil I’m considered VERY white. I know I have black people in my family tree, though!

The Grasshopper's Tale: 5 minutes about grasshoppers, 20 minutes about racism. Interesting breakdown! By the end of it, I'd completely forgotten it began as a lesson on grasshoppers.

Examples of pre-zygotic isolation that you mentioned are definitely useful for me.
It shows that species don't have to be fully infertile with each other but they can just "decide" not to reproduce. Funny is that creationists tried to debunk lab speciation because "chihuahua and bernardin don't reproduce but they're the same species". Well yes but there are classified that way by us. We have species that can produce fertile offspring and mate but they're still considered different species.

@Jackson Wheat
Steer clear of politics. _Especially_ when running the risk of what you say turning out to be factually wrong.
The validity of the claims are still unclear. You of all people should understand that the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
