Skiers on closed tracks!

Just a day after a deadly avalanche in Crans-Montana in Switzerland, which killed one and injured several, it's incredible to see the risks taken by people (and adults with children) just nearby at the Verbier resort. This smartphone footage I shot shows a British-speaking man take an adolescent (his son?) on a track that has been closed after being hit by moderate avalanches this week. "Go really fast!", the man tells the boy a few times, "if there's an avalanche." Notice how the boy is left at the back. The video also shows another man and an adolescent elsewhere in Verbier, ignoring locked barriers put up to block a popular track hit by several other big avalanches this week. The pair can be seen having to clamber over the snow where the avalanches still cover the track. These are just a few examples of many people we've seen completely ignoring bans in places where avalanches have struck. Monitors I spoke to say it's "incomprehensible".
