My uncle in the 90s did not want his own daughters and sons to attend college because Armageddon is coming soon to wipe out the bad people of this world. And then he got rebuked by his sister for denying education to his kids. For some reason he changed his mind. If he did not send his eldest to college, there will be no building new house for them, basically the kid that he did not want to send to college—became the breadwinner of the family. Success story to me! 🎉

This 2021 statement by Tony about not doing anyone a favor by perpetuating that the end would come in 1975 is my biggest trigger. I lived through that time and was a scared kid in October of that year just waiting for end. I was told I would never go to school, braces were a waste of money, then I would never graduate high school and then I was about disowned for even bringing up college. This video after all these years was one of the primary things that finally woke me. Tony is right about one thing, the GB did not do anyone a favor by pushing the 1975 agenda and they continue with the same tune.

POST 1975 people were still told the end would come before they would graduate. In the 80s the woman who studied with me told me it was selfish to have children as they would have to endure The Great Tribulation. She went on to have about 5 children and is now a grandmother. and still a

I was told by JWs in the early 90s that I wouldn't even graduate from high school in 1996....but not only did I graduate high school, I graduated college and I'am getting old in this system of things at 45 yrs old now I'am now middle aged almost 50 yrs old

I was a JW during the time the end was supposed to be 1975 and at that time young people were told not to pursue a college education because it wouldn't be needed. Instead they were encouraged to be full time "pioneers" going from door to door placing Watchtower and Awakes!! Well here we are 2023 and... well here we are!!!
I am so happy to say I am now a born again Christian and know the real truth and it's not what the Watchtower organization is teaching.

If you hadn't brought this out, no one [or very few] would have noticed the Morris confession. This video you have made about Morris provides a clue to the reason there is dissent and why he is no longer a member of the GB. Morris has yet more to say. So do his sons, and likely his wife, too.

Did your words remind me of many things. Summer, 1974, spent summer in Williamsburg, Va with my aunt and uncle. I was 17. My aunt had to go get her driver's license renewed. When she came back, showed me the license and said, I won't ever have to do that again in this system! She passed away 5 years ago. Didn't get to see Armageddon. I went back to community college in 1978 to get my g e d. I learned later someone ask why. Time in school could be better spent in service. I remember the chief elder made a remark one time about having big weddings. Too much Time spent in that and too much money spent. Money could be sent to society and used in better ways. A brother told me and my then husband about term insurance for only a small amount of time. You know the system is not going to last 10 more years. So glad I got out and raised my son in the regular world. To all others who are thinking about it, please get out and get a life for yourself.

The WT can't apologize to the JWs for the "good" reason that they hammered away implicitly for decades that the GB could never be a stumbling block. Elders, parents, publishers, overseers, etc... can all be stumbling blocks but never the GB. If they apologize today for the harm they have caused by their teachings then they would recognize that they have been stumbling blocks which in turn would demonstrate that God who rules the GB would also be a stumbling block.

This is the PERFECT I lived thru the 1975 mess...I was appalled and disgusted by Anthony Morris annual meeting admission. That basically, HE NEVER BELIEVED WHAT THE WATCHTOWER WAS TEACHING ABOUT 1975....Begs the question...If this is Jehovah's organization....How did this unbeliever ever make it to a Governing Body It amazes me that anyone still goes in 2023.

Excellent synopsis of the JW false prophets!! Stay Alive till '75 was my mantra back in the day. Thanks the good Lord for Raymond Franz and Crisis of Conscience. This book was our ticket to Freedom back in 1987. Thus our 3 children were raised in a normal fashion, all are college grads and our family has blossomed into 7 beautiful grandkiddos!! #jworgcult
