Dolly Parton is the national treasure that never ceases blessing us with an abundance of love-charged artistic works [movies, shows, music, musicals, etc] each and every year [for almost ~60 years now]! This was a beautiful rendition of her 1980 hit with the also-amazing Kelly Clarkson. Can't wait to see the new documentary when it releases on Netflix next week! : )

If ever a musical artist new how to reinvent herself constantly to make the most of new musical trends, while also still being authentically herself, Dolly Parton knows. This is SO good.

Also: They didn't change the lyrics. The lyrics were always this heartbreaking. It just went from a "we are using humor to cope with a shitty life reality" type sound to "letting the sadness show more to try and process reality we can't control" and I LOVE that, that both humor and sadness have their place in coping with a reality you're trapped in.
