In my opinion, this isn't something you have to leave up to chance or just HOPE you will have the opportunity to engage in. This needs to go on the calendar. Make a date (or three) with yourself every week and show up the same way you do for every other thing in your life.

My therapist enlightened me and told me my method of living was running on survival instincts due to childhood trauma. My phone addiction was caused by my brain looking for that temporary relief and mentally checking out, hence why I can scroll for hours and not be motivated to do anything else afterwards. She said my homework was taking 30 minutes of my day to do self care and find ways to relax without my phone. So thank you for this!

As women we often take care of everyone else before ourselves. We must make appointments with and for ourselves to take care of OURSELVES.

I’m seriously cleaning makeup brushes at 11:30 at night. I stopped, took my makeup off and threw on a face mask. It’s been a LONG time since I have done a face mask. Your videos really get my attention and make me be more AWARE of what I am doing! Thank you so much!

I did a semester of nursing and let me tell you she don't have no time and cutting into sleep is not an option. Your life is just not going to be optimal in that time whoa!! For me now trying to outsource is a no go with no family or friend nearby but I do my skincare and makeup that's it. I need to get back on the meal prepping!!!

I've never thought of self care a s ""hobby" before, that really puts things into perspective. I'm one of these people who's super guilty about spending money on myself, but ""hobbies" cost money, so that doesn't feel so bad!

I dont remember the last time my hair was dirty, my nails unkept and my skin not taken care of. But i cant remember last time i excersised xD i just take easy care of myself to avoid sweat i guess. Gotta change it

This! I barely watch any tv anymore either. I spend minimal time scrolling either. We've been so conditioned that how we're cement to decompress is to sit in front of the TV or our phones is so not how it should happen. It doesn't actually decompress anything it just numbs you out.

Best way to decompress is to get outside. Get active/move your body., Tke care of your mental your emotional and your physical health. Read. Meditate. Socialize - be with people in the present away from the TV and other devices.

And they are absolutely times and places for those that can be enjoyable and that contribute they're not to be the main source.

So many people saying that they wish they did this they wish they did that they wish they had more time for this and that but the reality of the matter they're spending like two three hours a night sitting in front of the television when they could be doing other things. You're choosing how to spend your time don't say you don't have time. Unless you're literally working two jobs 16 hours a day to support you and your family therefore rest/sleep, shower and food is your only source, you have time.

You’re so right about wasting time scrolling on social media! I’m trying to limit mine to communicating with long distance friends and family and watching quality content. I just made my category list last night and will definitely need to implement changes. I work 9-5, but just want to make better use of free time.
Also I loved how you said to write down what you already do—I go to the gym consistently, do quarterly facials, and have been doing therapy and listing those things made the other things seem more attainable. I seriously love these videos, it rejuvenates my inspiration and aspirations!! Thank you, Whitney! 🤍
