Energy Dissipation: Damping occurs when the energy of an oscillating system is gradually converted into other forms of energy, such as heat, sound, or electrical energy. This energy loss causes the amplitude of the oscillations to decrease.
Damping Force: A damping force acts opposite to the direction of motion of the oscillating object. This force is proportional to the velocity of the object.
