Man, Morgan is SUCH a great actor. Not in the least of his incredible voice.

Deep Impact needed to be a miniseries. The story needed more time to really breathe. And, Tom Beck is the best fictional POTUS.

Her discovering that it's not the name Ellie, but E.L.E., and that it means an Extinction Level Event is one of the best parts in the movie. If the movie could have somehow kept the asteroid a secret from the audience, it would have hit that much harder. Instead, have to put yourself in her place, see the discovery as she does. Still, it's breathtaking.

I really like Armageddon, but Deep Impact is the superior movie to me, because the human characters are better constructed here, despite the script feeling a little bit wooden at certain moments.

Love how she bluffed her way to this point. She didn't know jack other than the fact there WAS a coverup of SOMETHING, but his people thought she was enough of a threat to turn her into one. This movie was deeply flawed, but there was a good film buried in there under all the mucking about.

I have always felt that the stiffness of the script did well to portray people that were functioning at a point where they would all rather just break down...but they didn't have the time or privilege to break down.
