I have the iPhone 14 Pro Max but I still use my iPhone 8 constantly, I really like the touch ID and I also find the size of the phone comfortable. The only bad thing is its battery, I've had it since 2017 but it's still pretty useful.

I have an iPhone 13 for over 7 months already but I keep using my old 8 sometimes. It was my first iPhone and one of the best phones I ever had. The 13 is great too but it's something totally different. If you have an 8 and thinking of an upgrade, ip11 or ip13/ip13 mini are IMO really good if not the best and should be definitely enough for you.

i was using iphone 8 since 2020 then finally upgraded last month to iphone 14 pro max, the difference is wild ! my iphone 8 was still working okay (except the battery which needed charging 2-3 times a day)

my cousin gave me his old iPhone 8 last summer and i honestly love it. the performance is great but the battery is pretty (i mostly play games and watch social media) bad (77% battery health). it’s cracked at the back but it’s still amazing

I am an iphone 8 user until last month, I upgraded to the new S20 Ultra 5G, I was really relieved. The iPhone 8 offers both stuttering in games, very slow opening of apps, a not-so-good camera today, and nasty battery performance. For example, while it has 100% battery, it offers 3 hours of battery life in the Clash of clans game. iPhone 8 is a very old phone, except for two good things I've encountered so far, it made me very tired. These two good features are very easy to use with one hand, the screen is very small, the second good feature is iOS 16. Apart from that, stay away from this phone, you will really regret buying it. My suggestion: you can choose iPhone 13 Pro or 13 mini as Apple, S23 or S22 Ultra as Samsung, S20 Ultra, it's a super fast phone.
Note: My iPhone 8 min battery health is 100% original battery changed, it's like new.
