1. She was young when the mv and the real version came out.
2. She is singing in a different tone
3. No autotone was used.
4. She is a great singer

I love how expressive she is when she sings, with her hands mimicking the melodic nature of the song. It shows how much heart and feeling she puts into her artwork, and that is the spirit and clarity of a true and beautiful singer right there.

Idk... it's not autotune, maybe reverb as others suggested, but I think it's multiple layering of her own voice myself

I don't think they are using autotune on the studio version. That is reverb.

She is an artist
She won’t copy even her own song
It will be different every time she sings.

𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 : How much autotune you need for the song ?

Aurora: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗲 ?

As she’s singing you can just see her fall gently into the notes. It’s feels all so perfectly placed. Even without the music video you can still picture all of these moments that she tells in her song and that makes it feel so magical when you hear it. This song will always have a special place in my heart 🥰🥰🥰

It’s NOT autotune, it’s reverb, echo and effects

She hates autotune. This is really all music, effects, and echo. Her voice doesn't need autotune it is already so pretty

You can't compare every time she sings to previous times, the emotion she puts every time is different, so raw and pure, not two times are exactly the same, she is like doing a cover of her own songs to match her head space at the moment

I heard this song when my dad passed away. We had a really quirky childhood growing up poor, it was all thrift stores and gardening and water balloons, and riding bikes on dirt roads. After he passed away I always felt like I could never cry as much as I should for how much I love him, and life got busy so fast even though my favorite person in the world was gone. When she said, “Take me home. Take me home where I belong.” I remembered the sunny days growing up in my fathers house, us all eating watermelon together and I stopped doing laundry and just cried that his house will never be filled with music, and his voice, his crystal vases filled with sunlight and laughter, and the smell of apples and pears and garlic anymore. I was pregnant when it happened and so much changed so fast and I just realized his home will be “my home” forever, but without him there how can I get back? He was the soul of that place, my childhood home. And, “take me home where I belong, ” just broke me.

that’s not autotune, that’s just the production and echos, and some vocal layers. she’s a beautiful singer

edit: can ppl in my comments just stop arguing about what’s autotune and what’s not? autotune is supposed to completely change the singer’s pitch. this song includes production and echos that sound like autotune, but they’re really not.

The way she's singing 😍 seems like she's lost in another world of her music💕🥀

I know this is old, but I gotta put in my 2-cents. She's not using autotune. She hates autotune.

One is a music video from 2015 (19 year old voice) with sound and voices recorded in a professional studio with her backup singer (Silja Sol), multiple takes to find the right one and only choosing the best snippets, using awesome microphones, some layering of voices, reverb and echo, allowing her to completely move freely (part of how she hits certain notes), etc.

The other is an interview with the Genius YT Channel from 2021 (25 year old voice), not in a music recording studio, with a regular spoken-word/interview microphone either on a stand in front or on a perch above, not mixing, no layering, a single take, not backup singer, no band, and she's sitting preventing from full range of movement, and she's artistically reinterpreting her song. And she's not forcing her lungs the way she normally would.

Can't compare both and say one is autotune. One's professionally recorded and produced. The other is not. Just listen to her in live performances, including unplugged acoustic performances, and you'll know she's not using autotune.

I watched other vids on this channel to be sure, and they all compare the music video to a Genius interview, and say one is autotune and the other is not. In some of those without autotune, the rapper or singer isn't even trying to sing or rap. They're just saying the words for the interviewer. You even have one comparing the MV to the rapper doing it over webcam on his cheap headset's built-in microphone...

...sigh...
