Sean, this is fantastic content for newbies like myself looking to buy my first entry level boat. I truly appreciate all the videos you've made, I've even bookmarked many for future reference. Keep doing what you're doing, and I wish you all the best! Thanks again.

I typically run with emergency equipment for a 16' vessel in my '14 Cdory. Call me paranoid bit i enjoy having the extra flares, PDFs and things that make survival more likely.

finding misleading info on flares. Can the flare count be halved if you have a VHF radio or cell phone on board? For example for a 21 foot boat on lake ontario would i need only 3 flares if i have a VHF radio ?

Thanks for your videos Sean, but I'm curious what size PDF do I need. Is it a special font? lol (1:54 of the video, you have PDF instead of PFD)

If you have an inflatable vest on, you must also have a regular vest on board as well. Don’t get caught with out one.

What other gear do you recommend to have on board your boat for safety?
