Hi everyone. I want to apologize if the phrase "it was far too light for an Indian woman" was in ANY way disrespectful. I know people come in all shapes and colors and I meant no disrespect.

I was just trying to represent a woman from India in the way I thought best. ♥

Scott quoting Drawfee?! This is the most wholesome unexpected crossover I never knew I needed :D Amazing art, as always, Scott!

Wow! Just showed my Indian mother and she said even the first skin tone was perfect because Indians come in fair brown and to darker browns :)

As an Indian person that has the skin tone similar to the first one.... Both were perfect and tbh darker Indian women deserve represention too. I am in no way offended. Infact, I love you even more now, Scott

Indian women literally have sooo many skin tones. Both were right ❤

The original skin color was not too light for an Indian woman, as there are many Indian women with light skin. But the artwork looks great both ways! 💜

Honestly Indians are like an ice cream range, we’ve got every type of person from every ethnic background, north to south - so don’t worry if you don’t get the skin tone right, it’s all available anyways 😂 btw she is beautiful!

I'm so happy you know what Drawfee is! And this piece of art is stunning

There's no such thing as Indian skin tone. India has people of all colors. It's not a big deal if you get tones up or down. Both pieces look great.

I appreciate that you corrected yourself in the comments. I am North Indian. I have light skin, hair and eyes. I am frequently told I am too light to be Indian and told I can't wear a Sari or take part in any cultural activities because of it. It's less so by actual Indians of course, but still. It is always very hurtful to hear.

I associate "Delete your art" in particular, with Julia from Drawfee. She will delete anything.
Anyway, love how the skin turned out. Awesome piece!

My art teacher use to say "i dont understand young artists! What have you got to lose!" When we were scared of messing up our piece lol. Still rings in my head when im hesitating

Thanks for making a skin tone darker. As a south Indian I appreciate it, especially with India’s problems with colorism and the stigma around dark skin.

Just letting you know that the first one wasn’t too light either, it would definitely still accurately depict us, especially people in north India.

Your channel and Drawfee are my two favorite places of artistic exploration!

Gotta love Julia from Drawfee for this quote! Sometimes things just don’t work out and you gotta take a few steps back to be able to leap forward

Drawfee although their art may be silly has taught me a lot of important lessons as a young artist such as “delete your art” and that not everything has to be serious and you have have some fun

I feel like it’s very similar to the phrase “kill your darlings.” When you like someone in your story, but it goes against everything else which then you’ll probably need to cut it

I love drawfee! Their content never fails to make me laugh, so I highly recommend them.
There's something weirdly therapeutic about the phrase. It's okay to mess something up sometimes.
Great piece Scott!
