I hope you kids are ok and find better friends. I never witnessed or experienced this in my earlier twenties. Whenever people in my friend group didn't want to drink everyone else would respect that and spend the rest of the night thanking the non-drinker for still being their friend even after witnessing them (the drinkers) embarrass themselves.
