shit definitely messes with you, but just remember that the this whole workout thing is about fighting yourself, and being better than the man you were yesterday

Something worse is training for 3 months just for your friend who has never touched a weight in their life to outbench you

I have a friend who started lifting regularly 6 months ago. I’ve been working out on and off for 5 years. He’s half my size and already has a stronger back than me

Saw a complete skinny beginner get SWOLE AF in 3 months

I'm talking about 30kg/ 66 lbs of muscle mass

He also had a face full of acne and a super deepened voice

A few weeks later he shows me his blood work as i was the only doctor working out in that gym and he had a worse profile then a 70 year old alcoholic

Moral of the story, focus on yourself and trust in the process even though progress might be slow

Yes bro. It is so annoying because I have been trying my best by dieting, working out 3 hours 6 days a week, getting enough sleep for 8 months but my friend who has been lifting for 3 months can bench more than me.

I see a lot of y’all worrying about your numbers or how you look. Don’t worry about all that stuff, keep eating right, sleeping well, and staying consistent in the gym. You’ll make your biggest breakthrough when the times are the toughest.

Just recently started working out at the beginning of the month, barely can deadlift a plate. About two weeks in now I can lift 3 plates for 3 reps, I think that's decent

Remember people, focus on yourselves and your own journey. This is no race, it’s important to grow yourself and not focus on others.

Because honestly, it's not for everyone. And sometimes you gotta learn the hard way.

I used to work with a guy who had only been training a couple years and was way bigger than me, at this point I had been training around 5 years, he wasn't stronger than me except on OHP but his physique was insane, arms way bigger than mine, I still wonder if he used gear cuz he looked so insane after 2 years but I knew him and he swore he never had, super nice guy btw lol. Stuff like that is why you can't let yourself get discouraged, not everyone is the same and you just have to be appreciate how far you have come personally not compare yourself to others

Nah, I mind my own business when I work out because I’m there to “work”. Words I live by, “The first step to failing is comparing yourself to others around you in the world, who have nothing to do with you and you have no knowledge of”.

Bro what messes with me is genetics like I’ve been working out for a year and a half but have a friend who has never seriously lifted and he is so lean and just looks jacked

An friend of mine got me into going to the gym and was already lifting for a year. He looks of course bigger than me but literally the first time I went to the gym I had already more defined muscles than him and an six pack from doing nothing the whole day just sitting there and playing video games. I would only do some push ups here and there but not even every week. 2 months into lifting I got an 8 pack (not that visible tho) and I got veins on my biceps, chest and even abs after like only 1 month. I'm still quite small tho and would want myself to lift heavier, so my journey is going on!
