About the cheating in the board exams, Jaby seemed pretty surprised. Stuff like this did happen back in the day in some government-funded schools (not all, of course). Especially considering how remote and secluded this village was, it's no shock that this happened. For the poor, only the degree mattered, and for politicians, the track record of their area mattered. I am glad we have come a long way since this. :)

While watching this movie, I may have cried for 3-4 instances. Love it. I forgot the line but loved the line: If you can't be the Sun to lighten the world, you can still be a lamp to light the street. Awesome.

I related to this movie so much as i too tried for UPSC. Thia movie has captured the real essence of what goes on in this world. How difficult it is to clear it. Sadly i couldn't make it past prelims even though i had coaching. But I've seen people like these who are helpless but are still giving their best and working hard.

Outstanding film. Arguably the best of this year.. great music, direction, performances and visuals. Kudos to Medha S for acting and singing so well. Vikrant is a gem! Supporting cast was excellent too. And the musical background themes were great. Indian instruments for Vikrant and western for Medha. And gorgeous end theme with his home/village theme music and her western instruments
