That 27Mhz frequency is just above our 27Mhz marine channel 72 (27.720Mhz) we have 10 channels for marine use only in Australia, Between 27.820 and 27.980 Mostly AM as no SSB sets sold anymore, A long time ago you could get a couple models that had AM & USB.
