Fear The Walking Dead - Pilot Recap

Set in Los Angeles in the same universe as the main series The Walking Dead. New characters, more suspense and social commentary as in it a prequel so we see society before the outbreak of zombies and the eventually collapse.

Nick is in an abandoned church and sees the first zombie (his girlfriend Gloria). He runs outside and is hit by a car and taken to the hospital. His mom Madison, her boyfriend Travis and sister Alicia are getting ready for school when they hear and go see him at the hospital. Turns out Nick is a 19 yr old heroin addict. Madison is a guidance counselor and Travis an English teacher. A nerdy kid named Tobias tells her strange things are happening on the news. People are getting sick and violent or disappearing. Travis goes to the church and sees all the blood but no bodies. Alicia's boyfriend, Matt stands her up and no one can get a hold of him. A car accident happens and an injured person gets up and attacks police. After being shot multiple times, he keeps getting up and is then shot in the head. Video goes viral. School is cancelled. Nick escapes the hospital and goes to ask his drug dealer if the drugs were laced and made him hallucinate. Calvin his drug dealer tries to kill him. Nick ends up fighting back and accidentally shooting him. Nick's mom and Travis show up, Calvin's body is gone. Nick fears he is going crazy. They get in the truck to leave and see Calvin behind them in the dark. The grown-ups get out to try to help him. Calvin attacks them and Nick runs over him with the truck twice. They all see Calvin's body turn towards them. The three realize something very wrong is happening and that people are not staying dead.
