Infants shouldn't be in daycare in the first place. If you think the generational spike in anxiety disorders is a rounding error or a result of researchers only having begun paying attention to the phenomenon recently, I've got a bridge to sell you

Well, they want to increase everybody’s taxes so they can help pay for everyone’s children for childcare. Not fair for people that made a choice not to have children or for people that have already paid for their children to be put through daycare. Why should we be taxed?

Yep it solidified me staying home with my baby except for working one day a week (saturdays) when my husband could watch her. Thank you Minnesota for being expensive so I decided to stay home with my babies.

My kids are all late teens now, and childcare were just as large of a percentage of income back then. It was almost 20% for a center for one, 10% for a home base, back in mid-2000's. No one cared.

We had a tremendous caregiver when me and my nine siblings were infants, toddlers, etc. we called her Mom because that’s who raised us. Sounds archaic now or maybe just a luxury afforded by few but that was one parents contribution full time employment as parent. So a certain percent out of a double paycheck sounds like a nominal amount. Maybe with all the emphasis on “choice” in our culture, raising your children could be one of them. We don’t need the government feeding our kids at school, we need less taxes to afford what we choose to prioritize.

In Minnesota, it is going to be even more expensive next year and in 2026 if you look at the Budget Forecasts for The State and for The Twin Cities, Remember both Minneapolis and St Paul have Democrat Mayors and they have already said they will be raising taxes . Also the cost for Immigrant Children has to be paid for somehow, it costs @ $14, 378 to put one child through Public school each year . That is only for one child per year . Think about it .

It would have been far more expensive had the trust fund baby Dayton gotten his way and forced daycare workers to unionize.
