I literally cannot imagine how hard it is to go to college after being in foster care- im struggling and I have two very supportive parents to help me out. Their resilience is unmatched

As a former foster youth, I dropped out of college due to no support and got a full time job instead. I went back ten years later for just an associates but it’s having a 4 year degree was my biggest dream I felt I gave up on. What you’re doing is beyond appreciated and they will truly love it all !

I wonder if any colleges have programs that accept gift cards 🤔 my college used to have a student food pantry that was free to access - take or leave, no need to identify yourself or prove a need. It was just there for students to access. They had other services as well, though. It would be nice if schools were able to accept gift card donations to be kept in a similar student support office to help students in/leaving foster care, homeless students, etc.

I've never thought of a college having gift cards to help students in need, but now that I think of it, it would probably be a pretty significant program.
