So much french vocabulary in English :) Today I learnt that "Bass du jour" is indeed used in English. I'm always amused on how you english-speaking people pronounce "Genre" (this ending "e" is kind of mute in french). I sometimes struggle finding the appropriate words in English when they're actually french ones (I'm french). Anyway, great channel and great useful video as usual.
I'd add that learning intervals up and down and chord structures is what unlocked my bass playing. Not knowing which notes make each chord.

After 50-years of playing I practice to stay limber, I'm 70, Walking lines; I like playing over the bar lines using chromatic lines it adds push and pull to simple 4-bar changes. ... Another great video.

Just got to see Marcus Miller perform a couple weeks ago, as a young bassist for my highschool band it was an amazing experience seeing such an amazing player.

I got the Bach wake up call this semester after seeing the video of Chris Thile do a violin partita, played 2 movements of cello suite 2 on bari and bass clarinet for my jury. A whole new way of thinking about phrasing

Nothing to apologize for, my man. We've all got backlogs of stuff we need to practice 😂

Absolutely love this channel! Relevant information at its best. Suggestion: E. Lamont Johnson of the group Brainstorm. Thanks again!

I'm also in my 40's, playing every day even though I don't teach or play live and haven't done so in years. The thing that helps me the most getting out of the "I'm terrible" mentality is playing with other people. It is always easier and quite a relief.

Love this content man, you always inspire me. You are able to answer simple but necessary questions that are not found easily, thank you!

Another excellent video, Bassman! If I may offer a few more pick players; I’d highly recommend John Paul Jones, Carles Benevante and Charlie Colin (who played on Train’s first three records). Charlie also employs double stops, chords, an array of effects and even harmonics all in the context of AOR/ pop.

I think you've prompted/suggested/shamed me into getting my bass out, destringing it, opening it up, cleaning all the contacts that make gross sounds when plugged in, restringing it with new strings (are those really 20 years old at this point???), tuning it, and trying to get back into things.

I welcome anyone with apartment/"don't anger the neighbors" suggestions. The tiny USB charged amp I bought doesn't really give volume as much as it gives clipped volume.

This was a great Q&A. Several questions that I had were asked by others. I appreciate your responses.
