Is the Swatch x Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Worth it?

First impression, quick review and hands-on with the @blancpain x @swatch Fifty Fathoms Swatch Watch - Scuba Fifty Fathoms with SISTEM 51 in Indian Ocean, Green and Orange. I lined up for the opening and managed to get a hold of the watch in green. I got mine in Sydney and was the last person in the first drop to get one. I was the 75th in the queue making the count at 15 pieces/colour.

The other colours of the Swatch x Blancpain are Arctic Ocean (Orange), Pacific Ocean (Yellow), Atlantic Ocean (Blue) and Antarctic Ocean (white)

This watch costs $400 USD, but it features an automatic movement than a quartz one similar to the Omega MoonSwatch. I did a quick comparison with the Moonswatch Mars.

I love how Swatch advertise their bio-ceramic and recycled fishing net straps as eco-friendly, but at the same time sell us a watch that isn't repairable!

Even without considering the humiliation of having to wait in line for hours without knowing if they have enough stock, $400 is too much for this. At $200 it is worth it.

Nice review thanks. I bought a moonswatch just for fun and I've worn it a lot more than I thought I would this summer. It is nice and light and ideal for wearing on hot days. The blancpain X Swatch is interesting too, agree that it is not worth the outlay but I like the colourful vibes from it and will probably get one. I recently picked up a Helm Komodo and that worked out about the same price as this Swatch release, but so much more watch for your money with the Komodo.

It is a 100% a Swatch watch. There are no Blancpain parts in the watch. It is double the price of a normal Swatch watch with that movement. I have so many real watches to wear, I just don’t need it.

People don't get it, it's not meant to be a serious watch, it a fun collaboration, it's a creative move, go see what variety Casio or gshock has with resin..people shouldn't s*hit on this collab

My reservation is a non serviceable movement. When a $400 watch is not going to keep ticking it is concerning.
